In what would be a tremendous development, the Denver Broncos could have their coaching staff at the 2018 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama…

The Denver Broncos are making the rounds in the college bowl season taking a look at a variety of the top quarterback prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft.

As a matter of fact, John Elway and Matt Russell are at the Idaho Potato Bowl checking out Josh Allen of Wyoming as I type this up.

But Allen will not be the only quarterback that Elway and company go to scout in person this bowl season. Here’s a report from ESPN’s Jeff Legwold:

In addition to the exciting news that Elway and company will not just be scouting Allen this bowl season in person, Legwold dropped a hint that the Broncos could be one of the teams with a coaching staff picked for the 2018 Senior Bowl.

If you click the link to read his full statement above, you’ll see that note in there.

The coaching staff in Denver has had this team on the upswing the past two weeks after an eight game stretch where I felt the Broncos were the most poorly coached team in football.

If the Broncos’ staff sticks together, particularly with head coach Vance Joseph getting another year, the Broncos would be a great candidate to coach one of the rosters at the Senior Bowl.

As a matter of fact, the Denver Broncos have never had a coaching staff represented at the Senior Bowl.

Senior Bowl coaching staffs are traditionally selected by the NFL, and usually represent the two teams with the lowest winning percentage from the year prior that have a coaching staff in-tact.

That’s probably why the Broncos have never been there, but they would be a great candidate to represent a team this year, and I would pick the San Francisco 49ers as the other representative.

The Broncos would benefit greatly from being at this year’s Senior Bowl, as the rosters offensively are the best I can remember in my time covering the draft. Specifically at quarterback, where they may have the opportunity to coach any number of Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Mason Rudolph, and Kyle Lauletta among others.

This would be a huge development for the Broncos if the NFL and Senior Bowl decide their coaching staff is a worthy candidate in 2018.
