Aqib Talib has been recognized for his efforts on the college gridiron as he will be apart of Kansas Jayhawk football history.

The Denver Broncos have a superstar cornerback in Aqib Talib. He has really shown how to play the cornerback position very well. And it all started when he played for the Kansas Jayhawks. Due to his accolades in college, he is being honored for it.

The Kansas Jayhawks will honor Aqib Talib on September 2nd during their season opener at home against Southeast Missouri State. The event will take place two days after the Denver Broncos conclude their preseason schedule.

The other members of the Kansas Hall of Fame will include Anthony Collins, head coach Mark Mangino, and the Kansas Jayhawks 2007 team.

During the 2007 season, the Kansas Jayhawks finished with a 12-1 record and a Orange Bowl victory over Virginia Tech. The 12 wins were the most in Jayhawk football program history. Aqib Talib was named the MVP of the 2008 Orange Bowl. His MVP performance in that game included a 60 yard interception return for a touchdown. That touchdown became the first score of the game.

Something to note as well, Chris Harris Jr. was a freshman on the Kansas team that season, so he will also be apart of the team induction. But I am certain he will be in on his own soon.

Next: Should The Denver Broncos get Reggie Ragland?

Aqib Talib has shown even in his college days how much of an impact he can make on the football field. This honor is well deserved. During his career at Kansas, he recorded 13 interceptions. That ranks second all time in Kansas Jayhawk history.  During his final campaign, he was also played on offense. He recorded four touchdowns as a part time wide receiver.

Congratulations to Aqib Talib on such an exciting honor. There is no doubt that he deserves it.
