Trevor Siemian, Quarterback

Ty Walden, Editor

If Trevor Siemian wins the starting job for the Denver Broncos in 2017, look for him to be a stronger force on the offense in his second year as QB One. A lot of people seem to forget, while the Denver Broncos went 9-7, Siemian’s stats were not all that bad.

There have been some reasons as to why some believe he cannot be a starter in the league. He won’t adjust to Mike McCoy’s offense and won’t succeed. Or that he does not have the physical abilities to become a starting quarterback.

But think of it this way, the Denver Broncos were 3-0 and Siemian was having a decent season. He completed over half of his passes and had a 5-3 TD-INT ratio. Not too bad for a first year starter. I honestly believe that his shoulder injury, lack of running game, and lack of protection really hampered Siemian as the season went on.

If he is given the reigns again to become the starting quarterback in Denver, I am interested to see what he does with a healthy shoulder, a solid running game, and a better offensive line. If those three things work out for him, I can see him having a breakout season in 2017. That is granted he starts over Paxton Lynch and wins the job.

This guy got to learn for one season under the tutelage of Peyton Manning. If there is one quarterback that can help teach the quarterback position, it is Manning. Mike McCoy also does a solid job at developing young quarterbacks. If all of the fans out there think Paxton Lynch will succeed under McCoy, why can’t Trevor Siemian do the same?

If Trevor Siemian can win the job and stay healthy, watch out. I can see him having a better year than last season.
