Rookie safety Orion Stewart may not have been drafted, but it wasn’t for lack of production at Baylor.

At 6-foot-2, under 200 pounds, Stewart has a bit of a thin frame for a safety reminiscent of Justin Simmons. He obviously didn’t show the kind of freakish athleticism Simmons did coming out of Boston College, but he’s a very good athlete overall and the Broncos might have found themselves a gem here.

He picked off 12 passes in his college career, including six this past season. He has a nose for the football, and if he can clean up some of his sloppiness in coverage on deep balls, I think the Broncos have a future rotational safety on their hands.

It will be incredibly difficult to crack the No Fly Zone in 2017 as an undrafted player, but outside of Brendan Langley, I think he’s the rookie with the best shot at it. His ball skills and athletic ability translate to the next level, he just needs some polish.
