Paxton Lynch struggled last year to find any comfortability in the offense, but Lynch must earn Denver Broncos starting quarterback job this season.

There were plenty of ups-and-downs to the start of Paxton Lynch’s career; however, the Denver Broncos quarterback is more comfortable this season then last. Also, the confidence is much better than a year ago for Lynch. Despite playing in only three games in 2016, Lynch sees an opportunity for tremendous growth in offensive coordinator Mike McCoy’s system.

Paxton Lynch stated he is happy in his progress on Xfinity Monday Live for CBS 4 Denver.

“I am confident in where I am right now, I think the coaches are pretty pleased with how the quarterbacks have played and the offense, too, I think the offense as a whole wants to finish strong and get some good work in and then enjoy this break.”

Many signs of a great leader is moving on to the next play or throw. Better yet, Lynch wants to make everyone around him better.

“There are times where you miss a pass and you are like ‘Dang, I have to complete that,’ but mostly I am focused on making myself better so I can make the guys around me better,” Lynch said it is important for him to improve then influence the players around him.

As stated, there is a better attitude from Lynch. But any player is striving to make an impression on a new coach and earn a job. Lynch must do everything possible to separate himself from the pack. His progressions and footwork need to be ahead of schedule. Most importantly, absorbing the playbook of McCoy is number one concern.

All of this is achieved without taking out the swagger of the quarterback. Lynch plays with an edge like the defense. Lynch admires that.

“They’re competitors. They’re out here playing football, but that’s how I like it. Aqib is out here talking trash. So is Chris and so is Von. You’ve kind of got to get them going. You get in their heads, they get in your head and play football” stated about his swagger and the Broncos defense.

Lynch is showing improvement and growth early in 2017, but Trevor Siemian finds himself in the same boat as 2016. Do not count Siemian out either for the starting gig.

If 2017 Paxton Lynch is the one that we see now at an early stage of the preseason, he will be the starter this season.
