Former Bronco and Bear Jay Cutler is now in the broadcast booth as an analyst after not being picked up as a free agent during the offseason.

Jay Cutler is the next quarterback to join broadcasting. The former Bears and Broncos QB has decided to take on a different role within the realm of football.

Cutler is set to join FOX Sports as the guy who will replace John Lynch, another former Bronco who is now the General Manager of the 49ers. Mike Garafolo first reported the news that Cutler was auditioning for the role after generating no interest during the offseason as a free agent.

Cutler traveled to Los Angeles during the NFL draft to meet with executives, and now he has the job.

Charles Davis and Kevin Burkhardt welcome in the former NFL quarterback into the booth as Cutler embarks on a new journey. In addition, I believe Cutler can still play QB in the league.

Unfortunately the public perception of Cutler isn’t appealing in the eyes of Denver and Chicago fans. By the way, I may be the only Broncos fan in America who doesn’t have sour grapes towards Jay Cutler.

Chicago released Cutler during the off-season. He found himself searching for a team in need of a quarterback. Instead, teams decided to go with younger QBs in the long run.

It was believed Cutler would end up in Houston, instead they drafted Deshaun Watson in round one. Now Cutler is free from the pressure of the playing field, but will jump into the pond of broadcasting.

Generally, any time professional football players pursue a broadcasting career, I believe it benefits everybody for one of two reasons.

It gives viewers a different insight into the game. It will also help players by keeping them involved in the game after retirement.

I am rooting for Cutler to succeed in the booth with the hope that it will change fans perception of him. He is deserving of success and I will make the bold claim that he will shock viewers by how good he will be on game-days in the booth.
