Via Predominantly Orange co-editor Ty Walden:

I believe drafting Forrest Lamp in the first round would be the best move for the Denver Broncos. He is a versatile offensive lineman who could play anywhere on the line.

When the Denver Broncos saw Russell Okung jump ship to the Los Angeles Chargers, the team saw themselves without a left tackle. When all of the highest rated tackles on the open market signed with other teams, it put the Broncos in a bind.

While I am not huge on adding an offensive tackle into the starting lineup right away, the Broncos may not have much of a choice at this point. Unless John Elway pulls off some crazy trade, it is what it is going to be.

Forrest Lamp would be an ideal player for the Denver Broncos to draft. As far as I know, there are no glaring weaknesses in his game. The only thing that should be monitored is his arm length may make it difficult for him to play the tackle position.

A lot of scouts believe he should play at the guard position. But something tells me that he could do really well at the tackle position. His ability to do well in both pass protection and run blocking will really help the Broncos. The line struggled big time when running the ball.

While most believe that the team should go “Best Player Available,” I think addressing the biggest need is the first thing they should do. I’m not a fan of having to rely on a rookie offensive lineman early on, but if I were to go best player available on the offensive line, Forrest Lamp is the guy for the job.
