Denver Broncos depth chart prediction: Running Back
2. Ronnie Hillman
C.J. Anderson wasn’t the only Broncos running back who received a new contract and a raise in 2016…After Hillman came in and led the Broncos in rushing this past season, he was rewarded late in the free agency process with a one-year contract and a nice little raise on his rookie deal that he signed back in 2012.
What He Brings to the Table
Hillman’s game is all about speed and quickness. He’s not going to make a ton of plays between the tackles, but when he gets some space on the edges, he’s tough to contain. There’s definitely a lot of negative plays from Hillman, as well. He’s got a reputation for giving up the football, and perhaps the worst play he made all of last year came in the AFC Championship game against the Patriots, when he couldn’t corral a swing pass and watched the defense pick up what was eventually ruled a fumble.
Hillman’s speed and quickness are unmatched on the Broncos’ roster as far as running backs, but he has to take care of the ball and find a way to gain yards after contact.
