The city of Denver and the Broncos have submitted a bid to the NFL to host the NFL Draft in the year 2019, according to Mike Klis of 9 News Denver. Could we see the draft live from the Mile High City?

The NFL Draft is just a few days away and the teams and prospects are preparing for the biggest three days in the NFL offseason. With the city of Chicago, Illinois hosting this year’s draft, the city of Denver wants to see if they can be the next to host in the near future.

According to Mike Klis of 9 News Denver, Broncos President Joe Ellis was in New York this week to discuss with Rodger Goodell to host the NFL Draft in 2019, which would mark the 100th Season of the NFL.

Klis goes on to say that if the city of Denver does host the NFL Draft, a fan rally would take place at Civic Center Park and the draft would take place in the Bellco Theater inside the Colorado Convention Center.

This would be pretty cool for the City of Denver. They have all of the necessary qualities to host it, with modern transportation and hotels in order to accommodate the number of people that would attend the draft.

It was also reported that the Denver Broncos and the city have considered hosting the draft in 2017 and 2018, but have run into scheduling conflicts.

With the Denver Broncos having won Super Bowl 50 this past year, this would be a great opportunity. Especially since it would be the 100th NFL Year. Having Denver host such a huge opportunity would be great for the city.

Matthew Payne, the executive director of the Denver Sports Commission, had this to say about the prospect of hosting the 2019 NFL Draft.

We feel that Denver would make a perfect host. We have sophisticated football fans in Denver and confident that the city and the region would come out in big numbers. There is still a lot of work to do on this, but we feel that when we can get the NFL to come in for a site inspection that we can tell the right story and win the right to be host.”

It will be interesting to see if the city of Denver can host such a huge event and win the bid. If so, prepare for a busy three days in 2019 Broncos Country. It should be a good time.
