Demaryius Thomas Contract: Broncos Playing Hardball?
The Denver Broncos and Demaryius Thomas are literally running out of time to agree on a new contract, if indeed that’s the end game for both parties.
Thomas wants to be the highest paid receiver in the league, and the Broncos want to pay DT somewhere in between Calvin Johnson and Mike Wallace. There’s probably no way the Broncos are going to allocate $16 million of their annual cap toward one wide receiver, not when guys like Emmanuel Sanders are being paid $4 million per season.
That said, the Broncos have maintained they want to re-sign Demaryius, and DT has always said he’d like to stay in Denver. Everyone has always said the right things, but when it comes down to brass tax, nothing speaks louder than a bigger number on a check, and the Broncos are probably not willing to go that high.

Meanwhile, the fans were in the background like…
Wanting Calvin Johnson-type money, Demaryius Thomas came at the Broncos like
So, as cool as the other side of the pillow, Denver Broncos GM John Elway strategizes one last ‘drive’ to re-sign Thomas before the deadline on the 15th. He’s in Denver preparing his final offer like
When DT received the final offer, it gave him something to consider…
Hopefully this has given you the most accurate insight into negotiations you could have asked for at this point. We’ll eagerly await DT’s response.
