To me, Barrett was as good or better than every player the Broncos took in the 2014 NFL Draft save for Bradley Roby and Cody Latimer. He was a top flight pass rusher at Colorado State, and he got better it seemed as the game wore on.

Last year, Barrett shifted between the practice squad and active roster before ultimately winding up on the active roster to finish the season. He’s a phenomenal edge rusher with a natural ability to get pressure on the quarterback. There weren’t many games I scouted where he wasn’t making an impact.

So why wasn’t he drafted?

Beats me.

The Broncos got a steal and whatever Barrett learned while developing last year is going to be a huge for his progress as an NFL player and a reserve with the Broncos. I’m still conducting the hype train surrounding this guy.
