Ty Sambrailo (6’6 311), Colorado State:

Games Evaluated: @ Boston College, @ San Jose State, @ Utah

Run Technique- Consistently works to get his hips and feet under him to seal his man.

Hands- Is usually able to get his hands inside his man and provides a nice initial punch. Is aware that his dominant hand is on the inside.

Extension- Has short arms, especially for his size. Has a patient punch, but sometimes too much so as he lets guys into his chest. Has shown to fight them off, however.

Feet- Super quick for his position. Handles blitzes very well. Shows great movement on his kick step. Does have some problem getting to inside rushes. Needs to keep his feet with him on contact more often.

Fluidity- Gets adequate knee bend and, to a lesser extent, hip bend; struggles to keep leverage consistently.

Strength- Doesn’t drive as many guys as his overall size would suggest. Can get pulled and tugged to the side.

Effort/Toughness- Even if he misses an assignment initially, he’ll try to find a way to get a hit on someone. Plays until the whistle blows.

Instincts- Is a master of handling stunts.

Balance- At 6’6 he does have trouble maintaining proper leverage. Keeps an exceptionally wide base in pass pro. Will occasionally put his head down on contact. Lack of anchor gets exposed at times. Will get caught lunging on run plays and leaning on pass plays.

Athleticism- Very good mover, especially in his kick step and getting to the second level. Will be able to be used in the screen game and on pulls

OVERVIEW: Sambrailo is a very interesting lineman prospect. He has the desired quickness and height to be used as a tackle, even on the left side. However, he has short arms and it shows up on tape. It may be necessary to move him inside, but he doesn’t show the strength needed to play inside. It’s a question to whether he’ll be more of a tweener or a versatile player. He shows a great attitude on the field, making it a point to finish every play.

THREE WORDS: Quick, tweener, finisher

PROJECTION: Late 3rd round
