C.J. Anderson emerged onto the scene for the Denver Broncos during the 2014 season. He brought the running game to life, was invited to the Pro Bowl after taking over halfway through the season, and is a class act on the field. But perhaps it is his latest generous act that goes beyond on what a great guy he is off the field.
While the Denver Broncos have not made a huge splash this offseason, C.J. Anderson made one of his own in the eyes of all of Broncos Country when he surprised his grandmother with a brand new car with the performance-based bonus he received during the 2014 season. The complete surprise his grandmother showed was such a great thing to see as she was completely overwhelmed when she saw the car and C.J. Anderson telling her it is all paid for.
This latest act by C.J. Anderson is one of the many reasons why he is becoming such a big role model for individuals. Even if you are not a fan of the Denver Broncos, you have to give him respect for doing something nice for others rather than spending the money on himself.
Ever since taking over in Week 10 of the 2014 season, C.J. Anderson has consistently shown that he is a class act. His performance on the field does not go to his head. In fact, he looks to work hard and make plays on the field to help the Broncos win games. Even when the team loses, he is hard on himself because he believes that he did not make enough plays to win. Most fans know he is not to blame, especially in the divisional round this past season, because fans know that he was one of the few players that actually fought to win.
But it is also his actions on and off the field that have really caught my attention as a writer and a fan. Let’s not forget that he pulled Orlando Franklin away from an Indianapolis Colts player and got in between him so that he would not draw a penalty and make whatever chance the Broncos had at pulling off the comeback impossible. That proved to be helpful as he converted a first down on fourth down and one to keep the drive alive. If not for C.J. Anderson, the Broncos would not have had a legitimate chance to win the game.
C.J. Anderson has developed into one of the most likeable players in the NFL today. His performance on the field, his actions on and off, and his generosity to those that he cares about makes for one great role model to kids out there. When it comes down to it, he further proves that not all players let the fame and money get to them. I have no doubt that C.J. Anderson will be a well known name for the Denver Broncos when the 2015 season gets underway.
