The biggest domino to possibly fall at this point in the Denver Broncos’ head coach search has fallen, as Gary Kubiak has agreed to be interviewed for the job. The Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator had previously made known through Ravens PR that he was not interested in any head coaching jobs, but the Broncos asked permission anyway when their job became available.

According to Jason La Canfora and confirmed now by others, Kubiak has agreed to be interviewed.

This has taken on so much steam, that Ravens and Broncos beat reporters are already thinking well ahead of what staff Kubiak could put together in Denver.

Vance Joseph, mentioned in the tweet by Jeff Legwold, is scheduled to interview for Denver’s head coach vacancy possibly on Friday, but there’s now thought that he could be the defensive coordinator if — or when — Gary Kubiak is hired. Joseph was the defensive backs coach for a few years in Houston with the Texans while Kubiak was head coach there, so there is a connection.

It almost seems like the Broncos’ staff has been assembled, and everyone is assuming formalities at this point. We know something is up because Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin pulled his name from contention for the job and as far as we know (at the time of this writing) he has not accepted another position.

Interesting things are coming from Dove Valley on Friday, indeed.
