S Brian Dawkins, DT Darrell Reid, and LB Andra Davis are the latest players to step through the door at Dove Valley. Yesterday was mostly offense, and today, mostly defense. Maybe I shouldn’t speak so soon. I can’t keep up with the Broncos right now, and the day isn’t over. They have been one of the most active teams since the free agency period started. Pat Bowlen did the right thing in firing Mike Shanahan. If Shanahan were still here, we wouldn’t have been this active, and we would be watching the Broncos tally another 8-8 season. I love seeing all of these changes in the Broncos organization. It’s about time!
Some may criticize the acquisition of Brian Dawkins. He’s an older player and we reportedly gave him a 5 year, $17 million deal. He has been the backbone of the Eagles defense, and he’s a strong leader in the locker room. I like this pick-up and all of the decisions that McDaniels and crew have made so far.
