The Denver Broncos offensive line is certainly a work in progress. Here’s where they checked in on Pro Football Focus’ top 32…

The Denver Broncos spent their primary assets this offseason on the offensive line, but it remains a work in progress and one of the biggest question marks on the team heading into the 2017 season.

As a result, they did not receive the highest ranking spot from Pro Football Focus when looking at the offensive line units in the NFL from 1-32. Understandably so.

Here’s what PFF had to say about the Broncos in their ranking post:

"“Much of the Broncos projection comes down to how first-round pick Garett Bolles performs. If he’s a solid starter from Day 1, the Broncos could have an above average line with a Pro Bowl-caliber guard in Ronald Leary and Pro Bowl-caliber center in Matt Paradis. If Bolles can’t even beat out Donald Stephenson, our second lowest-graded tackle a season ago, they’ll have issues.”Pro Football Focus"

When all is said and done, their graphic will probably look something like this…

The modifications here are first at right and left guard, where Ronald Leary and Max Garcia have switched spots. It’s for the betterment of the team, so I get it, but I’m a little disappointed that Garcia couldn’t just stick at right guard when Leary has been one of the best left guards in football.

Then, you have the addition of Bolles at left tackle. Being that the Broncos are going up against some of the most productive pass defenses in the NFL this season, it would be wise to form a strong foundation in the running game early on this season.

I think this starting five unit accomplishes that almost immediately, and as they gel together as a group, I think we’ll see the Broncos ascend from 25th up into the top 12-18 range. I don’t know if we’ll see a ‘worst to first’ movement with some of these moving pieces and Matt Paradis coming back from injury, but on paper, this group looks alright.

It may not be the Tennessee Titans or Dallas Cowboys offensive line yet, but it’s a start.
