The Denver Broncos added to the competition of their quarterback stable with the after selecting quarterback Chad Kelly from Ole Miss.

Competition brings the best out of players.

Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian will come in vying for the starting gig; however, new draft pick Chad Kelly from Ole Miss has a chance to put the best foot forward to impress his new coaches. Kelly is a gunslinger and a big arm quarterback that may sneak into the backup role.

Better yet, as Trevor Siemian outline beautifully, the importance of playing with a chip on shoulder to earn the starting job. Kelly has that chance to do what Siemian did in 2016.

It will not be easy for Kelly, but the Broncos value the talent of him to draft him. The Broncos were going to address the quarterback situation at some point. Whether it was Tony Romo or a draft pick, the Broncos planned to bring competition to the current state of the team. It would not surprise me to see Kelly make the final 53-man out of Training Camp, but it will be an uphill climb.

Chad Kelly comes into the NFL with some character issues and an injury history. He will most likely begin his career just watching either Siemian or Lynch lead the offense. His off the field concerns could loom as well.

This could not have been a better place for him to land. Great coaching staff will keep him in check. Teammates will also. Quite a great spot for a quarterback who can turn into a starter to land. Hoping he can become a solid player.

John Elway continued his theme of drafting a quarterback in the draft. This time it was Chad Kelly.

Here are some highlights of Chad Kelly.
