The Denver Broncos versus Cincinnati Bengals in pivotal week three road matchup in an early morning showdown. Game starts at 1pm EST and 11am MTN.

This marks the first meeting since the overtime victory in Denver last season during week 16 and the Denver Broncos will look to silence the roar of the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.

The Cincinnati Bengals will be the hosts in this first critical road test for the young, undefeated quarterback, Trevor Siemian. Siemian has limited the amount of chances on offense playing to the defense strengths, which should surprise no one after the Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50 with this blueprint. Siemian has led the Broncos into the red zone often this season, but failed to capitalize on touchdowns.

Siemian’s first road start will also feature a stout Bengals defensive line that includes Geno Atkins, Domata Peko, Michael Johnson and Carlos Dunlap. Atkins gets all the praise in the middle of that line, but Dunlap and Johnson will be tremendous factors facing both tackles of the Broncos.

Russell Okung has been steady this season and already exceeding expectations. Just stay healthy Russell. The Broncos will get a boost at the tackle spot getting Ty Sambrailo back from his injury, but remains to be seen the reps he will get during the game.

More from Predominantly Orange

This puts immense pressure on Michael Schofield, yet again at the right tackle spot. He must continue to show his versatility if Sambrailo does not last the entire game. Both Broncos offensive linemen will be faced with handling the pass rush of Cincinnati.

The Broncos also appear to unleash Jeff Heuerman for the first time this season as Virgil Green is ruled out for Sunday. Green is a monster loss for both the running game and passing attack.

Heuerman has terrific upside, but the only thing we have seen is his preseason, training camp and college career tape. The coaches are certainly throwing the ex-Buckeye in a hostile situation against the Bengals defensive line and linebackers.

Much like last year, the Orange Rush defense and No Fly Zone have not missed a step putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks and forcing turnovers to touchdowns. Against the Bengals, the Broncos will look to sack Andy Dalton who is the most sacked quarterback in the NFL this season. Look for the Broncos to feast on this scenario all game long.

Giovanni Bernard is the x-factor for the Broncos defense to key on the entire game. Jeremy Hill has struggled against the defensive line last year mustering only 63 yards rushing.

It is a difficult start to the season for Hill, as he his only averaging two and a half yards a carry. Yet, the entirety of the offense for the Bengals is the show between Dalton and AJ Green.

The Broncos secondary will look to limit the big play of these two all game not letting Green beat TJ Ward or Darian Stewart in the secondary.

On paper, the Broncos should blowout the Bengals, but this game still is a great test for the young quarterback, Trevor Siemian to silence his doubters taming the roar of the Bengals.

This is also the first time both teams will face each other after the overtime win in week 16 last year, when AJ McCarron was under center for the Bengals. To date, there is nothing the Broncos defense has seen they can’t stop and will look to right the trend this Sunday.

SUNDAY NOTES AND STATS TO KNOW:

  • Donald Stephenson, Virgil Green and DeMarcus Ware are ruled out for tomorrow’s game. Ware will miss an estimated 4-6 weeks due to an ulnar fracture.
  • The Denver Broncos are 20-9 all-time in head-to-head matchups with the Cincinnati Bengals.
  • Since 2003 in Paul Brown Stadium, Broncos are tied with the Bengals.
  • Dating back to the postseason last year, Von Miller has nine sacks, three pass deflections and three forced fumbles.
  • Shane Ray recorded his first career touchdown against the Colts on Miller’s strip sack to seal the win against Indianapolis.
