With the NFL draft just two weeks away, the Denver Broncos have scheduled a workout with Western Kentucky Hilltopper Tight End and Offensive Tackle George Fant. Would he be a good fit for the Broncos?

Well Broncos Country, we are just a few short days away from the NFL Draft. On Thursday April 28th, we will know who the Broncos will select with the 31st overall pick in the draft.

The Broncos have planned some visits while the war room pieces together the various parts to the seven round draft in order to put together the missing pieces to the puzzle of the Super Bowl 50 Champs.

One of the needs for the Denver Broncos is at the offensive line position. With the team signing Russell Okung and Donald Stephenson in free agency and trading Ryan Clady to the New York Jets, the offensive line could use a bit of an added boost, especially after the season they had.

One interesting prospect that the Denver Broncos plan to visit with is Western Kentucky Hilltopper tight end and offensive tackle George Fant. He has been scheduled to visit with the team according to Tony Pauline from Draft Insider.

One thing that I found interesting about this prospect was that he was a former basketball player who transitioned to football. We all know a former tight end that was a basketball star.

Looking into Fant’s pro day, he posted a 4.8 second 40 yard dash, 22 reps on the bench, a 37 inch vertical jump and a 9 foot 11 inches broad jump. Not too bad at all.

There has been some consideration to have him at offensive tackle, but scouts believe he can be a pass catching tight end. It would be interesting if the Denver Broncos decided to go tight end with him. The team has Virgil Green and Jeff Heuerman in the wings.

However, this would be an interesting prospect for the Denver Broncos. He only recorded one reception for seven yards during his college football career. This either means that he was not on the field as much or played more offensive line.

With the limited amount of information, I would believe that he most likely would be a very late round pick at best. But most likely an undrafted free agent. If he does not get drafted, don’t be surprised if the Denver Broncos pick him up to add competition.
