The Denver Broncos won’t have Julius Thomas against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, and you won’t have him for your fantasy football team either, per a report from FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer and confirmed by the Denver Post.

Thomas will be inactive due to an ankle injury suffered against the St. Louis Rams in last week’s loss.

The Broncos can do without Thomas, who will be replaced by Jacob Tamme, but it certainly isn’t ideal to have your team leader in touchdowns out for any length of time. Hopefully, this means that the Broncos will be able to use Virgil Green today, a player that has been sorely missed in terms of his ability to help the running game get going as a blocker.

The primary beneficiary of this in terms of playing time should be Jacob Tamme, though the Broncos could also do some more sets with six offensive linemen as well as three-wide receiver sets.

So far this season, Thomas has 40 catches for 426 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has been a touchdown machine for the Broncos over the last two seasons, nearly averaging one per game he has played in. He has already matched last season’s touchdown total and should exceed it by season’s end, but the Broncos need to get him 100 percent since he’s had bad ankles throughout this time in the NFL.
