Rookie News

Broncos Next Opponent (during the off-season this will include news about the AFC West)

Big news from our 1st regular season opponent the Indianapolis Colts: Robert Mathis will miss the season opener against the Broncos due to a suspension.  Mathis released a statement that explained the drug in question was a fertility drug that his doctor said would not be an issue with NFL tests. While this is good for the Broncos’ chances of winning their opener I find it extremely frustrating that: Mathis’ doctor gave him bad information, Mathis did not double check with the NFL about the drug, and that the NFL apparently doesn’t give players a list of medications that might cause them to fail these tests to avoid these ridiculous situations.

I would rather beat the Colts with Mathis than without.

And I’m really happy Mathis and his wife are now expecting a baby.
