Multiple reports–including from Von Miller’s attorney–confirm that the Broncos’ star defensive end does not have an outstanding arrest warrant in California, as was previously reported.

Josina Anderson of ESPN was the first to confirm the news with this statement from Miller’s attorney Mark Schamel on the topic of an arrest warrant for a speeding violation in California.

“Von Miller is a wonderful young man who was stopped 18 months ago for speeding on a highway. He was ticketed for driving 10 miles per hour over the posted speed limit. There is nothing more to it than that. The speeding ticket is a simple infraction for which arrest is not authorized. This is not a criminal case and we have confirmed that there is no warrant for his arrest. This is much ado about nothing and it should be cleared up tomorrow morning.”

Vic Lombardi, a legend in Denver for not only his newscasting but also for drawing and defacing the Joe Flacco banners all around town also confirmed there is no warrant for Miller’s arrest in Cali.

So, apparently Miller has dodged a bullet? I’m pretty sure there are laws against such erroneous reporting, but I’d have to dig up my old media law notes. Pretty much everyone in the country went to bed thinking Von Miller was in more trouble, so hopefully this is at least some lukewarm news to wake up to in the morning. Miller isn’t in MORE trouble than he already was.

Hooray.
