Edgar Kaiser, 69, reportedly passed away Jan. 11 while on a business trip to Toronto.

Kaiser was the owner of the Denver Broncos when the team made the deal to bring John Elway to Denver in 1983.

He was a Canadian financier who served in the White House as a special assistant to President Lyndon B. Johnson and President Richard Nixon.

Kaiser bought the Broncos from the Gerald Phipps family in 1981, and he told them to Pat Bowlen in 1984.

Condolences go out to those Kaiser left behind.
