The Denver Broncos have just one more day of training camp left, and today marked their last afternoon practice. Here are some sights and sounds from today’s practice.

  • “Roll up” by Wiz Khalifa and “My last” by Big Sean blared from the speakers as the team was stretching.
  • Linebacker Alvin Bowen did 20 up-downs in front of the entire defensive squad.
  • The secondary worked on “ball-on-the-ground’ drills, diving after loose balls as ball boys threw them in all directions.
  • Syd’Quan Thompson made his return to the practice field after a pulled groin.
  • Ryan Clady, Orlando Franklin, and Elvis Dumervil were all on the ground after a hard collision on a running play. Clady was examined by trainer Steve Antonopulos, but remained on the sideline for the remainder of practice. It appears that he is fine, and the Broncos are likely taking precautionary measures with the offensive tackle.
  • What happens when the Broncos are on their own 1-yard line and it’s 3rd and 10? Kyle Orton guns a pass to a streaking Brandon Lloyd down the sideline for a first down.
  • Kyle McCarthy continues to impress as he intercepted Tim Tebow when the Broncos were on their own 1-yard line.
  • Matt Prater was at practice. He was arrested last week and charged with a DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident. As the wind picked up, Prater took the field and nailed four field goals in a row from in between the 35 and 45-yard line.
  • Play of the Day: Wesley Woodyard batted a Brady Quinn pass straight up in the air and caught the ball as he fell to the ground.
  • Today’s touchdowns mostly came from Orton. One to Daniel Fells from the 10-yard line and one to Matt Willis from the 5-yard line in 7-on-7 drills. Brady Quinn had a nice pass to Dan Gronkowski from the 10-yard line.
  • All three Miami alums (Willis McGahee, Orlando Franklin, and D.J. Williams) all refused to talk to reporters about the University of Miami cheating scandal which was revealed yesterday.
