The Denver Broncos had just about everything going for them in the first half of their Week 6 Thursday Night Football showdown against the Seattle Seahawks, but then the second half happened.

It's actually kind of funny, as the Broncos shrivled up a bit in the fourth quarter, especially on offense, and we usually see it play out in opposite fashion. Well, in a game that went into overtime, the team amped up the clutch gene. Cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian had a key interception of Sam Darnold, and that set up the Broncos in plus territory.

And after the Wil Lutz field goal went through, the Broncos clinched a huge 4-2 start and now have a mini bye week coming up. After this 4-2 start, it's clear that this team is every bit of a Super Bowl contender.

Denver Broncos are absolutely in Super Bowl contention after this Week 6 win

The Broncos had quite the stretch to begin the season. As soon as the schedule came out back in May, many Broncos fans circled the first six games. Even typing it out is intimidating:

-Kansas City
-Jacksonville
-Los Angeles
-San Francisco
-Los Angeles
-Seattle

You really can't find a tougher stretch to begin the season than what the Broncos just had to deal with. And even during the team's 2025 season, despite all the winning, many people came at the team and had said they were far from a contender due to how they were winning.

Well, if not for a broken ankle in the AFC Divisional Round, the Broncos are very likely playing in last year's Super Bowl, which is the very definition of a contender!

And through six games this year, you really could not have expected a better start from any other team that would have had this kind of gauntlet. Sitting at a pretty 4-2, and certainly not a 4-2 that is like other good starts, how are the Broncos not in Super Bowl contention?

Depending on who you ask, the team already beat a trio of Super Bowl contenders in Jacksonville, the Los Angeles Rams, and the Seattle Seahawks. Those games weren't going to be clean-cut, Broncos wins. That just isn't how it works in the NFL when two juggernauts play each other.

And how else would the Broncos prove their contention worthiness outside of... beating those juggernaut teams? Yes, it's not pretty, and yes, the offense looks anemic, but the Broncos simply finding a way to win is absolutely a legitimate thing that has sustained nearly a year in a half now.

The Broncos victory over the Seahawks in a primetime window on a short week was ugly, but that game was going to be ugly no matter what - two struggling quarterbacks against two good defenses is a recipe for what we saw on TNF.

And Denver being 4-2 is something that should have the entire league on notice. The Broncos are Super Bowl contenders, folks.
