The Denver Broncos are 3-2 through their first five games of the 2026 NFL Season, perhaps sitting in a best-case scenario start given how tough the schedule has been. While the sky might be beginning to fall on offense, the Broncos have again shown their late-game chops, as all three of their victories this year have been thanks to second half surges.
And with the team being nearly unstoppable at home, there is a really solid chance that the Broncos come out of this six-game stretch with a 4-2 record.
In less than a month the trade deadline will hit. It's on November 10th this year, which is the Tuesday following Week 9. Given how things have gone for a few teams this year, the likely 'sellers' could give the Broncos a perfect opportunity to pounce.
Denver Broncos could potentially find some trade deadline help thanks to projected sellers
On Monday, NFL insider Adam Schefter name-dropped the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, and Arizona Cardinals as teams that could look to be sellers:
"The teams that you look at are the teams that aren't winning that can shed salaries and pickup draft picks..

I would look at the Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, and Cardinals" ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive https://t.co/ZO6om2KZqP pic.twitter.com/5tqEnIZLx7
And what is really interesting is that the trade deadline lines right up with the Broncos bye. Denver plays Carolina in Week 9, which is on November 8th. If the team were to make a deadline trade, that new player would, in theory, have the bye week to get up to speed with the Broncos.
It almost makes too much sense.
Well, we have chatted about some players on these teams before, as guys like linebacker Mack Wilson, linebacker Cody Barton, and running back Tony Pollard are on the Cardinals and Titans and could be on the move.
Wilson and Pollard are free agents following the season and would likely not be re-signed by their respective teams anyway, and Barton is a former Bronco who has seen a rookie linebacker in Anthony Hill Jr get a lot of the spotlight in Tennessee.
All three of those players make a world of sense for Denver, as the linebacker and running back positions have been shaky, at best, for the Broncos this year. As for the Chargers, it's not likely that the Broncos would be able to make a deal, as their division rivals.
It's not impossible, but you rarely see division trades, so that's a team the Broncos may already have crossed off the list.
However, Miami is a very interesting squad, as these two teams have already done business together with the major Jaylen Waddle trade, so you'd think there has to be an open connection already present. The grand prize from the Dolphins could be their own stud linebacker, Jordyn Brooks. The Dolphins were able to snag Jacob Rodriguez in the 2026 NFL Draft, and he's unsurprisingly been excellent this year.
While the Dolphins did just give Brooks an extension, his contract is still tradeable financially, and given how good Rodriguez has been, and given Brooks is turning 29 years old this month, the Dolphins could be convinced to part with him if the price is right.
Brooks is an awesome player, but he's not necessarily young anymore, and with the Dolphins being at the very beginning stages of the rebuild, Brooks may already be long gone by the time the rebuild gets finished up.
Timeline-wise, it would actually make sense for the Dolphins to shop Brooks, and he'd fit with the Broncos, as he'd fill a major position of need, and he's also excellent against the run.
There is still a good bit of time between now and the deadline, but the early projected sellers could give the Broncos a slam-dunk chance to capitalize at the right time.
