There was nothing to play for in terms of the playoffs in this game, but the Las Vegas Raiders sure looked like the team that wanted it more as they defeated the Denver Broncos 27-14 in Week 18 on Sunday.

With the loss, the Broncos finish the season at 8-9, dropping a chance to finish with a winning season for the first time since 2016 while also dropping their eighth straight game to the Raiders.

That is a thorn that will stick in the side of the Broncos all offseason, one that will certainly be interesting as the team will look to figure out a way to get back into contention next year while Sean Payton tries to figure out how to successfully move on from Russell Wilson.

Looking at this game, here are the players who looked good for the Broncos as well as those who didn't.

Winner: Jarrett Stidham

No, Stidham wasn't incredible and he was outplayed by Raiders rookie quarterback Aidan O'Connell, but he did enough to show that there could be something to work going forward.

Stidham puts some zip on the ball and his throws allow his receivers to make plays after the catch, something we haven't seen much of this season.

He completed 20-of-34 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and one interception on a ball that went flailing late in the game on a throw he had his hand hit on just as he released the ball.

The Broncos did a terrible job protecting him and the Raiders' pass-rush did a big number on the Broncos' game plan.

Loser: Cam Fleming

Starting in place of Mike McGlinchey, who missed his first game of the season on Sunday, Fleming looked absolutely lost at times. He was matched up against Maxx Crosby far too often and without someone to help him, he had no chance.

Loser: Broncos Secondary

The entire unit, it was just terrible in this game.

O'Connell was efficient in the passing game and when he had to make a play, he made it. Raiders wide receivers Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker combined for 13 receptions foe 186 yards and two touchdowns.

In two games against the Broncos this season, Meyers scored four touchdowns.

And when the Broncos needed to make a play to get off the field, they were unable to do so and it was O'Connell throwing for a first down on many occasions.

The defense as a whole played really poorly in this game but the horrendous play of the secondary stuck out. Ja'Quan McMillian and Fabian Moreau each had particularly bad days in pass coverage.

Winners: Brandon Johnson and Jerry Jeudy

Johnson and Jeudy each made big plays in the passing game in this one and looked really good in gaining yards after the reception.

Johnson caught four passes for 88 yards and Jeudy had three receptions for 79 yards with a touchdown and he very nearly had a second. His touchdown reception was a thing of beauty.

Broncos receivers just did not put up numbers like this or make plays like this during the season so this was a sign that the team could be onto something with Stidham, who will have a chance to be the team's quarterback next season.

Loser: Broncos' rushing attack

The Broncos just have not had consistent balance on offense this season and in this game, the rushing attack was putrid.

Denver had for 48 yards on 20 carries, a mere 2.8 yards per tote. Javonte Williams led the team with 32 yards rushing, no other player rushed for more tha 10 yards. That is just not going to get it done.

Without the threat of a strong running game, the Raiders were able to focus on putting pressure on Stidham and that was one of the biggest differences in the game. Without a running game, the offensive playsheet for Payton just continued to shrink.

Winner: Alex Singleton

It's time to recognize Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton, who has been fantastic during his tenure with the Broncos.

After posting another double-digit tackle game on Sunday (with 13 total stops), Singleton broke a team record that had stood for 31 years.

With his total on Sunday, Singleton finishes the season with 177 total tackles, breaking the mark of 170 set all the way back in 1992 by Michael Brooks.

There wasn't much to cheer about on Sunday or for the last few weeks of this season if you are a Broncos fan, but Singleton deserves a Mile High Salute for his efforts.
