Denver Broncos unrestricted free agents and what the team should do with each
Offensive Tackles
The Broncos tried a number of different players at the right tackle spot last season and they are all coincidentally scheduled to hit the open market in less than two weeks.
As far as what the team should do here, that's anyone's guess.
We'll start with Tom Compton who was brought in last offseason as a veteran presence who was expected to compete for the starting job, but he could never get healthy and it ended up being a wasted season for him for the most part.
Calvin Anderson made seven starts for the team last season and was forced to step into the lineup when Garett Bolles went down with a season-ending injury. He may still have the highest ceiling of anyone on this list.
Billy Turner was brought back for his second run with the Broncos but he was bit by the injury bug early on and struggled a bit when he was on the field. He did make seven starts for the team last season.
Finally, Cam Fleming, who didn't re-sign with the team until late July, started in 15 games for the team. He is 30 years old and his best days may be behind him but the Broncos did lean on him a lot last season.
The team is going to be looking for upgrades along the offensive line and that may be the biggest offseason priority the team has, so they won't be keeping all of these guys. That said, the only other tackles on the roster aside from Bolles are Christian DeLauro, Will Sherman, Hunter Thedford and Isaiah Prince.
Decision: Re-sign Anderson and allow Compton to move on. Depending on what comes from free agency and the draft, bring back either Fleming or Turner later in the summer.
