Running Backs

Along with Marlon Mack, the Broncos have a pair of other running backs set to become unrestricted free agents, Latavius Murray and Mike Boone.

When Javonte Williams went down with a torn ACL last season and Melvin Gordon exhibited a ridiculous fumbling issue, the Broncos had to turn to a number of different players.

Boone has played for the Broncos the past two seasons and it was really his signing that signaled the end of the run that Phillip Lindsay had with the team. But Boone has not been healthy and has carried the ball just 28 times for 137 yards.

He was signed more for his special teams abiliies but he hasn't been worth having around to this point.

Murray is a different story.

A veteran that has now played for five different teams, Murray was brought in almost out of desperation last season when the Broncos snagged him from the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints.

He made the most of the opportunity, pacing the team with 703 yards rushing. He averaged 4.4 yards per carry and scored five touchdowns while also catching 26 passes. Murray absolutely should be back in 2023.

Decision: Re-sign Murray, allow Boone to find a new team.
