The NFL is less than two weeks away from the start of the free-agent signing period where teams around the league will get their first, and likely biggest, chance to improve their rosters for the coming season.

For the Denver Broncos, the team will have 17 players set to become unrestricted free agents. Once the signing period officially starts on March 15, those players are free to accept new deals from any other team.

The Broncos are going to be looking at spending some money outside the organization. As of this writing, the team currently has $9.6 million in available cap space, according to Over the Cap. That number will likely go up if the team decides to make some cost-cutting moves.

But first, the team will decide what to do with its own free agents. This will be a look at those 17 unrestricted free agents and what the team should do with each one, whether to re-sign them or allow them to walk.

DeShawn Williams, Defensive Lineman

DeShawn Williams is not a guy who is going to create a lot of excitement, but every team needs depth and despite bouncing around the league and being a marginal roster player, he seems to have found a home in Denver.

Williams played in all 17 games last season and made a career-high 15 starts on the year. He was third on the team with 4.5 sacks and added 37 total tackles on the season.

The Broncos are not exactly loaded along the defensive line and with Dre'Mont Jones set to hit free agency and likely garner a lot of attention, the Broncos can bring Williams back on the cheap.

Decision: Re-sign
