The Denver Broncos need to fill some holes this offseason, and they should do whatever it takes to ensure these players end up on the team.
I am excited about next week's free agency frenzy. The Broncos will be active in free agency as they do not have much draft capital to fill holes on their roster, which is the best long-term play. With avenues to create millions in cap space and some tradeable players on the roster, the Broncos should be in play for some major additions.
The Broncos should do what it takes to get these players on the roster
1. Brandin Cooks, WR
The first addition is a former Sean Payton draft pick all the way back in 2014. Cooks, in nine seasons in the NFL, has just under 9,000 receiving yards. He's a reliable deep threat who has put up 1,000-yard seasons with each of his four teams. Well, Denver needs a deep threat as KJ Hamler has not done much in the NFL.
The Broncos would have to be able to pony up the required draft capital to land Cooks. I don't think it'd be more than a third-round pick. A contract restructure would also have to be agreed on to reduce his cap number for 2023.
However, he'd add a much needed veteran receiver to the room.
