Denver Broncos should take a chance on Kenny Golladay
The New York Giants will be releasing Kenny Golladay, and the Denver Broncos should consider taking a chance on the veteran player. Golladay signed a massive four-year deal with the Giants a couple of years ago. It was worth $72 million.
Golladay only lasted two of those four years, and during his time as a Giant, he caught just 43 passes and only had one touchdown. It was a massive miss by then-GM Dave Gettleman.
Now, when the new league year starts on March 15th, the Giants will release the former Lion. The Denver Broncos figure to benefit from adding a receiver or two to the room this offseason, and I think that they should take a chance on Golladay.
He then hit the free agent market where he signed with the Giants. Golladay stands at 6'4" and weighs 215 pounds. He's got 4.5 speed as well, so he profiles similarly to both Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick.
I think, given the uncertainty of Tim Patrick being able to return to 100%, the Broncos should sign Golladay and try to insert him into a WR3-4 role. It might be easier said than done, but what if the former Lion wasn't asked to be the premier piece of the passing game?
What if Golladay was the fourth option in a passing game? Don't you think that he'd be a solid addition? Furthermore, you could also argue that he'd get some advantageous matchups in the passing game if the likes of Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Greg Dulcich were requiring more attention.
Golladay's stock is at an all-time low, so this is not going to be a heavy investment, but it could be a chance worth taking. What if this is a player who will only cost a few million dollars? Why not take a chance?
