Denver Broncos All-Time free agency offensive team
Running back: Willis McGahee, 2011
The Broncos signed former first-round pick Willis McGahee to spark the rushing attack ahead of the 2011 season and he did just that, pounding defenses for 1,199 yards on the ground that year.
It was a huge turnaround for McGahee whose best days seemed behind him after rushing for just 380 yards the year before with the Ravens. He was selected to the Pro Bowl the year after finishing eighth in the league in rushing yardage.
It still sits at No. 10 on the team's single-season rushing yardage list as well.
McGahee would play for the Broncos the following season as well, rushing for another 731 yards and four touchdowns. He finished his two-year stint with the team with 1,930 yards and eight touchdowns. The 4.6 yards per carry that he averaged in those two years was the best with any team he played for. He also caught 38 passes and scored another touchdown through the air.
Melvin Gordon, a free-agent signing in 2020, actually had more total rushing yards with the Broncos than McGahee, but the fumbling issue that ultimately got him released from the team puts McGahee at the top of this list.
