Broncos All-Time defensive free agency team: Linebackers

Brandon Marshall

This is a guy who flies under the radar, especially since he wasn't a traditional free-agent signing but rather a player the Broncos grabbed after he was cut before the start of the 2013 season.

Brandon Marshall was a fifth-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012 but after a quiet stint there, he was released as part of final roster cuts the followig summer. The Broncos picked him up and signed him to the practice squad, but he would make an impact the following year, playing in 14 games.

Marshall had three 100-tackle seasons for the Broncos and became one of the better defensive players on the roster during his tenure with the organization.

Bill Romanowski

Remembered for his nastiness on the field, Bill Romanowski is one of the most memorable players from the Broncos' Super Bowl teams of the late 1990s.

After playing for both the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles, Romanowski came to Denver in 1996 and spent six seasons with the team. He had over 400 total tackles, 11 interceptions and nine fumble recoveries.

He also made the Pro Bowl in 1996 and 1998 and helped the team to its first two Super Bowl victories.

DeMarcus Ware

An outside linebacker that was part of the huge free-agent class the Broncos had in 2014, DeMarcus Ware was a key piece that led to the team winning the Super Bowl in 2015. He also made Von Miller an even better player both with his presence on the field and his coaching off of it.

In his three years with the Broncos, the final three of his career, Ware came up with 21.5 sacks. He will be enshrined in Canton as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2023 later this summer.
