The Denver Broncos are meeting with an old friend. The team will reportedly meet up with their former head coach Vance Joseph in hopes of filling their vacant defensive coordinator position left behind by Ejiro Evero, who was hired by the Carolina Panthers recently.

Joseph went 11-21 in two seasons as the Broncos' head coach, which ended up being over twice as long as their most recent head coach in Nathaniel Hackett.

The Denver Broncos have been doing their due diligence in terms of interviewing candidates for various positions. Not only are they planning on interviewing Joseph; they were rumored to be interested in Vic Fangio, who spent three seasons serving as their head coach from 2019 through 2021. It was also reported that the team was interested in interviewing former Jets and Bills head coach Rex Ryan for the defensive coordinator position.

While Joseph didn't make it as a head coach in limited time, he is one of the best defensive minds in all of football. He has served as the Arizona Cardinals' defensive coordinator over the last four seasons.

The Cardinals' defense showed improvements during each year of Joseph's tenure with the team: 27.6 points per game in 2019, 22.9 in 2020 and 21.5 in 2021.

Obviously, not every coach who becomes a head coach is meant to be in that role. That seems to be the case with Broncos head coaches lately. However, the team has had some of the best defense even during their losing seasons dating back to the 2016 season. Adding Joseph to a team who has several players familiar with him could be a good move.

Returning to a place that he once knew as home could be a great way for him to continue his defensive coordinator gig. Unfortunately for Joseph, the head coach position just wasn't right for him. One thing is certain, though: He has the potential to be successful while coaching the defense.

Well, Broncos Country, what would you think of this move if it ends up happening? Do you like it? Love it? Absolutely hate it?
