Through three games, the Denver Broncos appear to be building something on offense. Let's see if this 2025 NFL mock draft can put them over the edge. The Broncos are 1-2 and just had one of their most complete performances in years. They trounced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and were very efficient on both sides of the ball.
If they can continue to stack days on offense, Denver may be a formidable team at the end of the season and could use free agency in 2025 and the 2025 NFL Draft to put the last touches on what could be a very good roster heading into the new season.
In this NFL mock draft, the Broncos get a slew of players to push them over the edge. Would this class be good enough for the team to take that next step in 2025?
Broncos 2025 NFL mock draft: This draft would put Denver over the edge
13th Overall Pick - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Emeka Egbuka is going to hear his name called very early in the 2025 NFL Draft. He's one of the best WR prospects of this class and is from Ohio State, a school that has churned out top-flight WR prospects in recent years like Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Marvin Harrison Jr. Egbuka has a great chance to find NFL success, and it could be with the Denver Broncos.
The Broncos do not currently have a WR1 on their roster, and their best WR this year has been Josh Reynolds, which is not ideal. WR is a free agency and first-round need for this team, and Emeka Egbuka at pick 13 would be a great selection for the Denver Broncos to make. It's going to be a huge priority in the offseason to get Bo Nix more play-makers.
Even if the Broncos would take a WR in the first round, I would not be surprised if they also addressed the position in free agency.
44th Overall Pick - Barrett Carter, LB, Clemson
The Denver Broncos could justify redoing their ILB room. Alex Singleton and Cody Barton are fine, but neither are game-changing players, and it'd be nice for the Broncos to find one of those types. Barrett Carter figures to be one of the first ILBs to hear his name called during the 2024 NFL Draft. He plays his college football at Clemson.
In 41 games for Clemson, he's racked up 161 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, and nine sacks. Him being able to get into the backfield as a linebacker is huge, and Carter could be a nice pairing with Singleton if Denver wanted to bring him back.
The free agent market at inside linebacker is never really filed with top players, so the Broncos may have to address this position solely in the 2025 NFL Draft. That's fine, too, as the team is clearly embracing a bit of a youth movement, so getting younger and more explosive is very ideal.
75th Overall Pick - Anthony Belton, OT, NC State
The Denver Broncos need a left tackle prospect like we need air to breath. Garett Bolles is a free agent following the 2024 NFL Season, and he'd be entering his age-33 season in 2025. It's not a guarantee that Denver brings him back. He's still effective but is now aging into his 30s. The Broncos have not taken a tackle in the NFL Draft since Bolles all the way back in 2017, so they are well overdue for one.
Anthony Belton is from NC State and is one of the better tackles in the country. He's a left tackle, obviously, and could pair nicely with a low-cost free agent that Denver could sign to hold the fort down a bit while OL coach Zach Strief develops him.
Denver desperately needs a tackle from the NFL Draft.
111th Overall Pick - Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame
Can someone please find a viable tight end for the Denver Broncos? None of Greg Dulcich, Adam Trautman, or Lucas Krull appear to be the guy, and it's odd that the team has not at least tried to use Donald Parham at all. I would hope that Parham gets involved a bit, as Denver doesn't yet know what they have in him.
When the 2025 NFL Draft rolls around, they can target a tight end from Notre Dame in Mitchell Evans. Evans has caught 41 passes for 550 yards in his career with the Fighting Irish and does come from a school that has a solid reputation with tight ends, so this could be a mid-round gem for the Denver Broncos.
183rd Overall Pick - Derrick Harmon, DL, Oregon
Transferring to Oregon for 2024, Derrick Harmon is a massive human being. He's 6'5" and weighs 330 pounds, so if nothing else, he could be a run-stuffing space eater for the Denver Broncos, who should seek to find an upgrade over DJ Jones, a 2025 free agent. The defensive end duo of Zach Allen and John Franklin-Myers is a great one, but I do believe the Broncos are missing a menace on the inside.
They should seek to address the iDL in free agency as well.
202nd Overall Pick - Jordan James, RB, Oregon
A teammate of Bo Nix from Oregon, Jordan James has carried the ball 197 times for 1,231 yards and 19 touchdowns. He's averaged 6.2 yards per carry in his career with the Ducks and could fill a position of need for the Denver Broncos. Javonte Williams is a free agent following the 2024 NFL Season and is surely not someone the team needs to entertain bringing back.
They could roll with a room of Audric Estime, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie, and Jordan James for 2025. That's a ton of youth, which is exactly what Denver should strive to do.
Well, would this NFL mock draft in 2025 put the Broncos over the edge?
