The Denver Broncos have seen many players come and go through the years. Let's look at some of the most notable former players they will face in 2024.

There are some old faces who used to be Denver Broncos that are on other teams. Denver has made their fair share of poor roster additions over the years, and many of those were from GM George Paton. Well, Denver will have a plethora of former players on the opposing sideline ahead of the 2024 NFL Season.

Besides the obvious one, let's look more into the former players that Denver will see in 2024.

Former players the Denver Broncos will face during the 2024 NFL Season
Dre'Mont Jones, Seattle Seahawks

In Week 1 of the 2024 NFL Season, the Denver Broncos will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks, a team they did some business with two years ago. The massive trade for Russell Wilson spakred a bit of a rivarly with these two teams, and former Broncos DE Dre'Mont Jones left for the Seahawks in free agency before the 2023 season.

Based on how his season went, and how Broncos DE Zach Allen's season went, it's clear that the Broncos have the better player, which is awesome.

Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers

Oh yes, perhaps the most anticipated game of the 2024 NFL Season is in Week 2, where the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Denver to face Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers. This game is going to be absolutely insane, and I would expect Mile High to be sold out and seated to the brim. Russell Wilson is going to get perhaps the most boos of any athlete ever.

And you know that the Denver Broncos are going to play their tails off, as this is the first home game of the season as well.

Randy Gregory, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In Week 3, the Broncos travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers, who signed Randy Gregory in free agency. Gregory was a failed free agency signing by George Paton, as he fell out of favor in 2023 and as ultimately traded to the San Francisco 49ers.

Gregory has all the talent in the world but has dealt with a slew of off-field issues, which has thrown a huge wrench into what could have been a productive NFL career. I am not sure there is a single Broncos fan who has a favorable opinion of Randy Gregory at this point.

Josey Jewell, Carolina Panthers

Josey Jewell leaves the Denver Broncos after spending the 2018-2023 seasons with the team. He left for the Carolina Panthers, and he gets to reunite with Ejiro Evero, who was the Broncos defensive coordinator in 2022. The Broncos signed Cody Barton in free agency to effectively replace Jewell, and while Jewell was by no means elite, his absences is probably going to be felt.

The Broncos and Carolina Panthers will play each other in Denver during Week 8 of the 2024 NFL Season. Jewell and current Broncos ILB Alex Singleton will surely meet up before the game.

Shelby Harris, Cleveland Browns

Shelby Harris is on the Cleveland Browns and was one of the players that went over to the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Russell Wilson trade. Harris was a consistent force for the Broncos defensive line for years, but GM George Paton had to make the tough decision to include Harris in the deal for Wilson.

There is probably a bit of bad blood there, and the Broncos did take down the Cleveland Browns last year in Denver. The two teams will again play in Mile High in 2024.

Joe Flacco, Indianapolis Colts

Ah yes, Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco. This was a failed experiment for part of the 2019 NFL Season. Flacco eventually paved away for then-rookie QB Drew Lock, who led the Broncos to a 4-1 finish on the season. There was absolutely nothing to like about the Joe Flacco era. It was downright pathetic.

Flacco did enjoy a nice late-season run with the Cleveland Browns in 2023, and is now the backup QB for the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos won't likely see Flacco on the field, but he'll be on the sideline.
