4 former Broncos who didn't fare well in new places in 2022
Teddy Bridgewater, Quarterback, Miami Dolphins
Teddy Bridgewater is considered one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league (when he has been one) and the Miami Dolphins signed him as a free agent to do just that.
After one season with the Broncos as the team's starter, there was no interest to keep the veteran around following the trade for Wilson. The Dolphins became the sixth NFL team for the former first-round pick but it wasn't expected that he would see the field often as the Dolphins have Tua Tagavailoa.
But Tua suffered multiple concussions during the season and the team had to turn to Bridgewater, who didn't perform that well in his absence. Bridgewater threw as many interceptions (4) as he did touchdown passes and he was also hobbled himself.
The Dolphins had to use seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson and when they made the playoffs as a Wild Card, there was some debate as to who would be the team's quarterback. With Tagavailoa uncleared to play, the team decided to go with Thompson over Bridgewater.
That was due to the fact that Bridgewater suffered a broken finger on his throwing hand and Thompson gave the team the best chance to win, which nearly happened.
Like every other player on this list, Bridgewater is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. With the way Thompson played as a rookie, it would be easy to see Miami moving on from Bridgewater and for the veteran to have to find a seventh team to suit up for at 30 years old.
