Three underrated things Broncos must do to win games in 2023
2. Keep the penalties to a minimum

One thing that is super obvious, but hasn't been talked about a ton this offseason are the penalties that plagued Denver in 2022. Nathaniel Hackett's team was embarrassingly undisciplined in all phases. Denver committed the second most penalties in 2022 for the most yards.

Frankly, it was embarrassing to watch. Denver should field a competent offense and an overall more balanced team in 2023. Just because they seem to have a good coaching staff, doesn't mean they're out of the woods with the penalties.

One thing that former head coach Vic Fangio did well was coach a disciplined team. Denver consistently ranked near the bottom of the league in penalties committed under Fangio. Hopefully, they could continue that trend under a veteran coach in Sean Payton.

Penalties can be game-changing and can impact the team both positively and negatively.
