The Denver Broncos should do a deep dive into the coming free agency market. Who are three underrated players the team should sign?

George Paton claimed in an interview that he will be aggressive in free agency, which makes sense for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the team does not have a first or second-round pick, so finding a starter in the NFL Draft to fill a hole might not be likely.

Secondly, they have a clear path to free up millions in cap space which would give them much more room to invest in the free agent market. While the Broncos are likely going to sign a significant free agent or two, they will surely look for cheaper and more underrated options to help the team.

Three underrated free agents the Broncos should sign in 2023
1. Matt Gay, K

An obvious position to improve on in 2023 is kicking. Brandon McManus made less than 80% of his field goal kicks in 2022 and has really only ever had one season of note. He's largely been an average kicker his entire career and is being paid like an elite one.

Matt Gay, on the other hand, has been excellent the past two seasons for the Los Angeles Rams. Over the last two years, he's made 60/64 of his field goals, which is good for 93.75%. He also made 87.5% of his kicks in 2020 as well.

He's become one of the most accurate kickers in the NFL and is someone that would fill a huge need for the Denver Broncos. It would be ideal if Denver could sign Gay to a multi-year deal to secure the kicking position for years to come.

Obviously, the Broncos would release Brandon McManus and would save a few million on their cap.
