Twice already this winter, the Denver Broncos have brought in a former head coach for an interview to be their defensive coordinator: first Vic Fangio, who picked the Dolphins over the Broncos, and now Vance Joseph, who is said to be a candidate with the Eagles as well. Both coaches had rough tenures as the lead man in Denver, but both have come back to Denver to interview for a lesser role. That does raise the question, however, as to which other former coaches the Broncos should interview. Well, here are three:

1) Denver Broncos should re-hire Mike Munchak

Munchak would be a phenomenal addition to the Broncos staff. A former offensive line coach in Denver, Munchak could come in and fill an offensive coordinator role, especially considering he would not be required to call plays in that role. The Hall of Famer's expertise comes in the area of the offensive line, but Munchak has served as high up as a head coach and could help Sean Payton in his search for stability and experience at the top of his staff. The Broncos and Munchak would also benefit greatly by having him help rookie offensive line coach Zach Strief, especially considering how pivotal a strong line will be to the success of the Broncos in 2023.

Munchak has stated a preference to work in Denver before, which led to when he was initially hired by Vic Fangio, which turned out to be a strong year for the Broncos' line. His strength on the line could pay benefits, while his history as a head coach could also help bring stability to other positions on the offensive staff. The staff is going to be brand new, so a strong guiding offensive coordinator could help their end goal. With names such as Ronald Curry reportedly returning to their current staffs, it could make sense for the Broncos to shoot for stability and experience at their OC position, and Munchak offers that. This would also block him from moving to another team for the offensive line coach position, potentially ensuring that he could be in Denver for a handful more years to come.
