The Denver Broncos kept it close for much of the game. In a game where the heat was a huge factor, the Broncos failed to get much of anything going on offense outside of a rather encouraging second-half touchdown drive.

Denver dropped to 2-2 with the loss, and it's their second time losing by double-digits this season, which is far from ideal. Both of the Broncos wins have been one-score margins. Through four weeks, this team looks regressed from a season ago.

Based on what else happened across the AFC West this week, let's see where the team falls in our updated AFC West power rankings.

Denver Broncos back at square one in updated AFC West power rankings

4. Los Angeles Chargers (0-4)

If nothing else, the Los Angeles Chargers keep losing. Now 0-4 on the year, this team is not only poorly coached and underprepared each week, but they're also again dealing with injuries. While 13 games is still a lot of football, starting 0-4, especially the way the Chargers have, almost guarantees that this team may only win a small handful of games this year.

LA could be a bottom-3 team in the sport right now. The entire operation has regressed.

3. Denver Broncos (2-2)

The Broncos are now 2-2 for the third year in a row. This version of the 2-2 Broncos feels a bit different, though, as the offense can't do anything well, and as some have pointed out, nothing comes easy. Defenses are daring Denver to run, but they simply cannot do it, and now on defense, the unit isn't getting to the passer nearly as much as last year and continue to be negatively impacted without John Franklin-Myers and Jonathon Cooper.

Something needs to change. The Broncos genuinely do not do a single thing well on either side of the ball.

2. Las Vegas Raiders (3-1)

The Las Vegas Raiders are a good football team, folks. They gave Kansas City everything they had in Week 4, and I am not even sure this loss reflects poorly on them. They have a new quarterback and coaching staff, and coming into this year, it did feel like it was more change that wasn't going to amount to much.

But the total opposite has been true - Kirk Cousins is playing his tail off, and even the defense looks a lot more stout. The Broncos were able to sweep the Raiders in the 2024 and 2025 seasons, but now at 3-1, this team is far from how bad they were the past two seasons.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (4-0)

The Kansas City Chiefs now sit at 4-0 and appear to be the Chiefs of old. Kenneth Walker has been an outstanding addition for the team, and while the defense actually hasn't been all that great this year, what we're seeing with Walker and the reinvigorated offense cancels out any defensive regression.

In terms of overall roster talent, the Chiefs do lack when you compare them next to the very best teams in the league, but there isn't any denying that they are the best in the West right now.
