The Denver Broncos are inching closer to the start of the 2026 NFL Season, and with the last 'official' training camp practice now in the books, the team can surely feel the anticipation building for the regular season.

Between the Jaylen Waddle trade and the Davis Webb promotion, a majority of the attention with the Broncos this offseason has been centered around the offense and if this unit can take that next step. The returns during camp and even the first preseason game would indicate that this unit is ready to explode, as the first-time play-caller does seem to be bringing a more modern style to the offense.

And Webb also has a slew of competent playmakers to use as well, so it's not out of the question that the Broncos could emerge as one of the more explosive, efficient offenses in the sport, and tight end Evan Engram addressing the media on Wednesday does load us up with some fun expectations before the season.

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram seems to love the offense that Davis Webb wants to run this year

I guess this isn't necessarily news, but Engram continued to beat the drum that has been beat all offseason with Webb. This offense wants to attack and do so quickly and frequently:

He also talked further about how Webb wants to also get the ball down the field more often, which is also encouraging:

What is interesting is that Bo Nix did not hesitate to throw the ball down the field quite often during the 2025 NFL Season. According to fantasypros.com, Nix had the 8th-most passing attempts of 20+ yards, the 6th-most in attempts of 30+ yards, and the 5th-most in attempts of 40+ yards.

Nix also led all quarterbacks in passing attempts, but not having much of a run game after Week 10 did force the Broncos to throw the ball more. Last year, the team did not have the personnel nor the ideal situation to throw the ball down the field a lot, but 2026 appears to be different.

With Webb likely wanting a quicker operation, that could allow Broncos pass-catchers to get behind secondaries, and if the run game does hold up this year, Denver's offense won't sport a clear weakness, and there would also be a clear avenue for Nix to excell at throwing the ball down the field.

It might be ridiculous to assume that J.K. Dobbins stays healthy for most of the season, but the addition of Jonah Coleman could really be the final piece of the running back puzzle here. Overall, the Broncos finally do have the personnel do be able to run a fast, up-tempo offense that takes legitimate chances down the field.

They have two blazing-fast wide receivers in Waddle and Marvin Mims Jr, a big-bodied "X" receiver in Courtland Sutton who can separate with his size, and even a tight end like Engram who has always been an above-average receiving threat at the position.

The hype train just keeps rolling for Webb ahead of his first full-time gig calling plays in the NFL.
