The Denver Broncos are 4-2 through the first six games of the 2026 NFL Season, and while there are some offensive struggles, the team is also, unsurprisingly, getting some top-tier performances from many of their best players.
Players like Garett Bolles and Quinn Meinerz are playing at an All-Pro level, for example. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has definitely shown why the Broncos brought him in when he gets the ball, and Nik Bonitto has continued to be overwhelming off the edge.
And, for the third season in a row, defensive end Zach Allen has become a pain in the rear end for opposing offensive lines, and we're again approaching a year where another first-team All-Pro nod feels likely.
Denver Broncos' DE Zach Allen may again be trending toward another All-Pro season
Allen is a ridiculous player. He played well in his first season with the Broncos back in 2023, amassing five sacks, 60 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 24 quarterback hits, but he's has taken his game to the next level in 2024 and 2025.
He had 8.5 sacks, 61 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 40 QB hits in 2024, which saw him earn second-team All-Pro honors. His 2025 season was somehow even better. He had 47 QB hits, a Pro Bowl nod, and was given first-team All-Pro honors.
Through six games in 2026, Allen is on pace for:
13 sacks
60 total tackles
11 tackles for loss
45 QB hits
This would be a career year for Allen. He is currently on pace to shatter his career-high sack total, which as 8.5 back in 2024. He has already matched his tackle for loss total from 2025, as he has four through six games this year. His 60 total tackles would be the second-highest mark of his career, and his 45 QB hits would also be the second-highest mark of his career.
While Allen does still have 11 regular season games to go, he is on pace to be even better than his first-team All-Pro season last year. In fact, he Allen reachs 40+ QB hits for a third season in a row, he'll continue to be the only player in NFL history, alongside his former teammate, JJ Watt, with as much such seasons.
The single-season record for QB hits is 51, which is held by Watt, and with Allen having gotten within four last year, all it might take is a couple of games against porous offensive lines to see that QB hits pace kick up.
The Broncos are flat-out spoiled with Allen, as he's also turned out to be a really solid run defender this year, too. All in all, the Broncos decision to bring in Allen back in 2023, essentially replacing former Bronco Dre'Mont Jones, has proven to be one of the best free agency decisions this team has made in team history.
