The Denver Broncos have made, arguably, the biggest move of the 2026 NFL Offseason with the major Jaylen Waddle trade. Infusing Waddle into this offense gives the Broncos precisely what they were missing on that side of the ball. After years, it truly feels like the offense is complete.
Defensively, though, there are still some holes. Ideally, the Broncos make additions at inside linebacker and defensive end, to some degree, before the regular season begins. But even right now, the 22 starters on the Broncos would still be plenty good enough to win the AFC West for a second year in a row.
And to be honest, certain teams in the division have gotten worse this offseason, and one of those teams would be the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs latest signing really proves that.
Denver Broncos receivers have to be laughing at the signing the Chiefs just made
While the Broncos are putting the finishing touches on a Super Bowl roster, the Chiefs are signing cornerbacks who were NFL Draft busts and are now on their fourth team since 2022:

To be completely blunt with you, this is hysterical and a huge indictment on the Chiefs front office for the disastrous offseason they have had. Kansas City's secondary has been totally ripped up this offseason. The Chiefs traded cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams, and also lost cornerback Jaylen Watson to the Rams.
Furthermore, stud safety Bryan Cook signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, and not only that, but the Chiefs also lost linebacker Leo Chenal to the Washington Commanders. But hey, at least the Chiefs overpaid for Kenneth Walker III!
It's nice that the Broncos share a division with the Chiefs at this point, as the roster has been mismanaged for years now, but Patrick Mahomes was able to cover it up for a while, but it caught up to them in 2025.
Kansas City won a whopping 15 games back in 2024, but they won a ton of games by razor thin margins. Those margins disappeared in 2025, and the Chiefs ended up winning nine fewer games, missing the playoffs for the first time in the Mahomes era.
Overall, the Chiefs are simply not going in the right direction, and just because this team has two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, doesn't mean those picks will be used properly. The other important thing to note here is that the team also traded for Justin Fields, perhaps with the idea that Mahomes is going to be ready for Week 1 of the 2026 season.
The Chiefs could again start the season in a rough spot and just will not have the firepower to likely play 'catch up' with the Broncos.
