The Denver Broncos do something better than any other team in the NFL right now, and that's getting to the quarterback and creating sacks. The Broncos have led the league in sacks in each of the last two seasons and also have the most sacks in the NFL across the past three seasons.
Given what we have seen in training camp and preseason thus far, the Broncos should again be the best team in the NFL at taking down the quarterback, but that doesn't mean fans weren't wanting more. With Jonathon Cooper's legal situation lingering, many fans had been shouting from the rooftops for this team to sign Von Miller, an all-time franchise legend who played the 2025 season for the Washington Commanders.
However, a Miller reunion is now off the table, as the Broncos watched as Miller signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
Denver Broncos do not sign Von Miller, and there didn't seem to be any interest, either
I guess this isn't a huge shock, as Miller is from the Dallas area and played his college football at Texas A&M, so this is probably an amazing homecoming for the veteran:

This move by the Cowboys also does fall in line with their defensive overhaul this offseason. While Miller isn't a starter at this stage of his NFL career, he did amass nine sacks and 15 quarterback hits for the Commanders in 2025, so there is clearly still some value here with Miller as a pass-rush specialist.
Furthermore, the Cowboys defensive coordinator, Christian Parker, did overlap with Miller on the Broncos in the 2021 season when Vic Fangio was the head coach, so there is some familarity present.
To be honest here, the Broncos signing Miller would have been a fun move, but the team simply doesn't need EDGE help. Cooper could still get suspended for his legal issues this offseason, but Denver has gotten some awesome returns from guys like Jonah Elliss and Que Robinson this offseason.
Nik Bonitto is also one of the best rushers in the league, and Zach Allen has led the NFL in QB hits in each of the last two seasons. The Broncos have a surplus of rushers, honestly, and there really would not have been a clear spot for Miller to slot into this defensive rotation.
What might end up being most likely is Miller signs a one-day contract to retire a Bronco down the line, as Denver just does not need him at the moment, but that also doesn't mean he isn't still an all-time franchise legend, and he'll surely be a first-ballot Hall of Famer one day.
