Bo Nix and the Broncos' offense is heating up (and the league should be scared)

Uh oh.

The Denver Broncos have battled through a lot this year, but the team has found a way to rip-off five wins in a row en route to a 7-2 record at the bye. With Denver's schedule actually getting easier in the coming weeks, this team could still ride this streak for most of the rest of the regular season.

What has really been a nice surprise is how the offense has come alive these past three weeks, and it has been needed. After a pretty limp showing from that side of the ball across the first six weeks of the season, Weeks 7-9 have turned into some laser shows at times.

Denver's offense hitting its stride, and Bo Nix getting more comfortable is getting more obvious these past three games.

Denver Broncos offense has begun to put up some solid performances at the right time

In Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals, the Broncos scored three touchdowns and ended up with 30 total points in a blowout win. In Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Broncos scored three touchdowns and added two more field goals en route to a 28-point outing.

And here in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers, Denver scored another three touchdowns and put up 26 points. Over the past three games, the Broncos have averaged 28 points, and during this three-game stretch, Bo Nix's play has gotten a lot better:

60/98
681 yards
5 touchdowns
1 interception
94.8 passer rating

While perhaps a modest passing showing, Nix's three-game stretch this year averaged out over a 17-game season would look like this:

340/555
3,859 yards
28 touchdowns
6 interceptions

We're seeing an efficient quarterback right now, and with the Broncos averaging nearly 30 points per game during this stretch, the rest of the league should be worried, as we all know this defense steps up when it matters the most. While the unit has struggled in terms of yards this year, we have seen the 'clutch' gene time and time again.

Even over the last two weeks, the Broncos had a great goal line stand against the Chiefs and a huge strip-sack of Bryce Young in Week 9. While a three-game sample size is not huge, this is a rather significant uptick for the offense in recent weeks.

While the momentum might be stalled a bit after the bye, the team typically plays well after the bye in the Sean Payton era, so there is a non-zero chance that the progress this team has made on offense continues in Week 11 and beyond.
