A Broncos' win in Week 6 would force the rest of the NFL into a harsh reality

Think about it.

Even during the Denver Broncos 11-game winning streak during the 2025 NFL Season, I am not sure it was a slam-dunk thought across the NFL landscape that this team was a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Many people didn't necessarily like that the Broncos were essentially winning by one score each week, and some also said that quarterback Bo Nix was not nearly good enough or was some variation of 'bad.'

Well, if not for a tragic broken ankle, the Broncos would very likely make it to the Super Bowl and face the Seattle Seahawks, which is the team they play in Week 6, and with a win on Thursday Night Football, the rest of the NFL would surely be forced into a harsh reality.

The Denver Broncos would need to legitimately be look at as a top SB contender with a Week 6 win

When the NFL schedules came out back in May, many people immediately identified just how tough this stretch was to begin the season for the Broncos, and with the Los Angeles Chargers being as bad as they are, it did still get a bit easier, but even with that reality, many can recognize that facing Kansas City, Jacksonville, both Los Angeles teams, San Franciso, and Seattle is no walk in the park.

Every single game the Broncos have played since Week 2 is against a team that won double-digit games and made the playoffs last year, and Week 1 was against the Chiefs, a team that many did not think were as bad as their record indicated last year.

And still, the Broncos sit here with a chance to start 4-2 for the second season in a row, but the thing this year is that not all 4-2 records are created the same. The Broncos haven't beat up on the league's worst teams in blowout fashion - they could end up with a 4-2 record against some of the best squads in the NFL.

If the Broncos do win on TNF, their four wins, typed out, would look like this:

-Jacksonville
-Los Angeles Rams
-Los Angeles Chargers
-Seattle

How is this not insanely impressive (if they beat the Seahawks) even given how bad the Chargers are...?

There likely would not be a more impressive resume to begin the 2026 season than what the Broncos could accomplish when TNF is over. From that point, how do you not throw the Broncos into Super Bowl contention? What would keep them out of this discussion?

Winning against some of the best teams in the NFL is quite literally the goal, and the Broncos could simply do that here to start 2026. While it's never really pretty, and wasn't pretty for much of the 2025 season, the Broncos are among the best teams in the sport. They're nearly unbeatable at home, nearly impossible to beat in a one-score game, and did come within a game of the Super Bowl last year.
