5 biggest hurdles the Broncos face in getting past the Chiefs
4. The Chiefs are seasoned veterans of the postseason
In order for the Broncos to find a way to get past the Chiefs, especially in January when it really matters, they are going to have to beat a team that’s loaded with seasoned postseason veterans. It’s hard to win in the playoffs. In my opinion, it’s even harder to beat teams who are there all the time, especially when you’re not.
This is where the Broncos can get an edge from having a head coach like Sean Payton — someone who has been there before and achieved greatness.
The Chiefs are just loaded with guys on the field and obviously on their coaching staff who aren’t experiencing any “firsts” anymore when it comes to their playoff experience. Sure, that can put the proverbial target on your back, and it’s also true that repeating as champs in the NFL these days is brutally tough, but that playoff experience is so valuable.
This is a massive hurdle for a team like the Denver Broncos to overcome, not just if they are able to make it to the playoffs, but even in the regular season. The Chiefs know how to close out games, they have guys who step up in the clutch, and they’re not afraid of big moments.
