Under no circumstances should these Broncos be back in 2023

Under no circumstances should these Broncos be back in ’23

KJ Hamler, Wide Receiver

Perhaps one of the biggest “busts” or duds on the Broncos’ roster is wide receiver KJ Hamler, who was a second-round pick back in the 2020 NFL Draft.  What makes Hamler so dangerous is his speed.  He’s got 4.2 speed and has been able to show it on a few occasions wearing the orange and blue.

However, Hamler simply cannot stay on the field and is not someone who should be relied on anymore.  I think it’s time to cut the cord on this marriage.  It might be the best option for both sides as Denver is going to likely bring in someone this offseason who can be a reliable speed guy.

KJ Hamler is plenty good enough to be a WR3 in the NFL for a long time, but his injuries are piling up and the Broncos cannot continue to afford him missing games.  I’m not sure if there is any trade market out there, but I think Denver should strive to get whatever type of draft compensation back for Hamler that they can.

Brandin Cooks is someone I’ve been pounding the table for as far as getting a reliable speed threat in the building.  Perhaps the Broncos and Texans can make a deal for Cooks and Denver could potentially include Hamler in the trade.
